101 things about me

There are days when I really want a drink...

I don't really drink alcohol.
Mostly it's because I don't like the taste.

It would be nice to sit with friends and share a bottle of wine, to enjoy a social gathering over a few drinks at the end of the week or a hot summer's day. But to this day I have never managed to find a wine or beer that I especially like. So I figure, why bother?

But there are days...
when I am over the slog
when my patience is wearing thin
when all I want to do is scream bloody murder...
when I think that having a few bevies to calm the turmoil inside my head, might come in handy.
That drinking myself into oblivion might soak away the voices and frustrations. Where my sorrows will be drowned and silenced.

Somedays I believe that waking up with a hangover, might just be preferable to waking up with the head-hurting knowledge that groundhog day is waiting for me to get out of bed to start all over again.

I hear you on the alcohol things. Hope your week improves and just keep counting the sleeps.

I don't usually drink that much either- I actually quite like the taste of it but it's not the kind of thing I do on a regular basis. But on my trip to Thailand my friend and I developed a taste for Pina coladas and gin and tonic.
I actually bought some gin to relax with after a crazy day of teaching. It is actually quite nice to do every now and then. Maybe you will discover a taste for cosmopolitans or something after your trip to new york. I don't think it is just the alcohol that helps in relaxation but the connection to the lovely trip.

I don't drink at all either, but I certainly wish I did some days...
I usually substitute chocolate instead. Wish I had something more helpful to say.

You know Jacinta, I think that you are on the brink of something wonderful, that you are getting ready to make changes, that your groundhog days are coming to an end. I think that's why you are feeling these things so acutely at the moment.

PS. When are you coming to craft with us at NCB?

Know where you're at, with the needing to wind down. (I guess I should be thankful that I quite like a glass or three of wine....).

My other cure-all is a swim.... do you swim?

Keep counting down the days!!!

Hi Jacinta, I like what Cathy (Tinniegirl) said. You are ready for the next adventure. The NY trip is going to be Excellent, and when you get back it's "Project New Career" Go Get'em Girl!
